Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District at the Senate has organized a one day media seminar, workshop for youths under his media structure to better equip them on the modern trends in the social media world. The programme with theme, social media influencing as a veritable career option, was geared towards delivering quality influencing options while staying in line with basic information dissemination devoid of fake news.
The guest speakers at the event which took place at Classic Munich Hotel Nnewi, took turns to teach the Ifeanyi Ubah media structure on the need to use the social media as a veritable tool for self and community development. Dr Justin Nwankwo, spoke on the pros and cons of the social media and how it can be used for added advantage towards delivering quality content to the public devoid of fake news.
In the same vein Ebuka Onyekwelu, took them on election reporting and effective feedback from the situation on election day to avoid dissimnation of fake news which is against the electoral law. Tony Ezeimo on of the guest speakers also spoke on the social media as tool for self development. They were encouraged to do what they do, bearing in mind that they are developing themselves for the future.
Harrison Madubueze taught the influencers on the need for using the right campaign themes a d effective messaging during electioneering periods. While Chima Christian talked on the importance of team work in generating trends on social media.
The senator used the opportunity to commend those who have worked hard to make a career from influencing while encouraging others who have not to tow that line, noting that the world has gone digital and the youths should not be left behind. He urged them to use information given to them from his media structure to promote what they do, as all information coming from his media structure is verified devoid of propaganda.
While speaking to newsmen, the head of media and communications to Senator Ubah, Hon. Kamen Chuks Ogbonna said the workshop came at a time when it was most needed. He however stressed that the workshop was to train their media structure on the need to stay on the line while passing out information to the general public. He said" It's the will of the senator for those working for him to develop their potentials to maximum level"
He said that the essence of the workshop was to rejig these young minds for effective communication skills and make them understand that media is a veritable tool to make good career out from it. He therefore called on those that were trained to imbibe and cultivate positive mindsets while delivering on their mandate of influencing positively.
