The YPP candidate of Anambra Central Senatorial District, Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi has once more affirmed that his new direction agenda, is mostly focused on the youths. As over 60% of what he is doing now is for the Youths. Dr Umeadi made this known to newsmen at an interactive session in his campaign office Awka, Anambra state capital. He said, we talk about engaging the people, we talk about needs assignment of the people, we talk about going to represent the people and not representing yourself. We care for what we will do for the people and not what we want for ourselves."
The Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation he said, was basically set up for programmes that directly affect the less privileged people in the society.
He said that in the area of community development and capacity building, that the Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation has high Impacts on community projects and has made donations to ongoing projects as well as started and completed new projects. The NGO he said has built hospitals, leisure centres, schools, and trading centres; and has improved the state of already existent community facilities across Anambra Central and beyond. The Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation has a revolving loan scheme for people running or starting new businesses, and many more from his foundation.
On the area of security,
the 2023 YPP candidate, said that there is need to intensify action for community policing in the country. He therefore called on the Federal Government to empower and equip local vigilantes and other community security outfits across the country for better service to the people.
He stressed that the measure will assist the Police and other security agencies at the rural areas, in securing the electorate during the voting process and also after the general elections.
He said it will also help curb the menace of kidnapping, banditry, ritual killings, terrorism, herders/farmers clashes and gunmen activities that have become a major source of worry to Nigerians, especially, the rural dwellers.
He however, promised to institute Laws
that would focus more on insecurity, Health, Education and mostly, youth/women empowerment programmes, through skills aquisitions, if elected into the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly (Senate), Abuja, come February 25th, 2023.
According to him, empowering, ecouraging and equipping the local police is urgently needed at this electioneering moment, to help the Nigeria police and other sister agencies at the rural areas, secure the personalities and other innocent Nigerians travelling from the urban cities to their various villages to vote during the voting exercise he said.
He said, if elected, he will improve on the lives of the youths in Anambra central through a security structure, that will engage relevant stakeholders; the Police, vigilante groups, Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Nigerian Union Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Traditional rulers, Community President General's, Community, Market Leaders in the course of bringing a synergy to bear, which will sustain an enduring security apparatus in the state.
He noted that YPP will win all the elective positions in the state going by the fact that the party is no longer an unknown party so to say, as the moves by the party show that it has built structures across the three Senatorial Districts in Anambra, he said he has no fear in contesting the election with any of his opponents, whether they have being in the system for long or not. He however maintained that a new direction is here, and the youths have come up this time to express their desire to institute a new order of governance that will institute transparency in government. He said that his first six months will be to ensure that the youths are engaged through proper representation.
He therefore appealed to Journalists to only dish out issue-based campaign information to the public for the sake of peace and unity of the country. He concluded
