Wike, Others In Madrid To Take Stand

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his team travelled to Madrid, Spain at the weekend to discuss the report of Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike was spotted at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa with Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Samuel Ortom (Benue).

This newspaper gathered that the PDP BOT had called on the national chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, to resign immediately after the 2023 general elections.

A PDP chieftain, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke, had in an interview with newsmen said the PDP must address the complaints of Wike if it was sincere and wants peace to reign.

Nwuke, who was a commissioner for information and communications in the state, told newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday: “What we know is that if the PDP is sincere; if the PDP wants peace in its midst, if the PDP wants to run as a unit, then, they will address the complaints that have been put forward.”

The former lawmaker stated that the Rivers State governor was not fighting a personal fight but for the entire southern part of the country.

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid.
