Valentine Ozigbo, the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in the last guber Election in Anambra state and former CEO of Transcorp, yesterday 22nd April 2022, interred his father, Late Pa Andrew Nwafor Ozigbo at his country home in Amesi, Aguata LGA Anambra state.
Pa Andrew Nwafor Ozigbo dedicated his life to the service of humanity which spanned over 7 decades as he transversed the length and breath of Anambra.
In his homily, the Bishop of Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese, His Lordship Peter Ebere Okpaleke on Friday, April 22, 2022, during the funeral Mass of late Pa Ozigbo at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Amesi, Aguata LGA of Anambra state, called for peace and understanding in the society especially at this trying times when insecurity seems to be tearing the society apart.
He stressed that Nigerian politicians have a lot to copy from the deceased as he dedicated his life to the service of humanity which is the core principle of service. He described the late Pa Andrew Ozigbo as a man after God's heart whose interest while alive was to see a peaceful coexistence of people no matter where they hailed from. He urged the Ozigbo family to bear the loss of their father with fortitude knowing that he is in heaven with God.
While interacting with newsmen after the interment of Pa Ozigbo, Valentine Ozigbo his son said that his father dedicated his life to the service of humanity. "Pa Andrew Nwafor Ozigbo is an epitome of peace, unity, a community leader per excellence, worthy of emulation."
He said that his father contributed his quota in propagating unity and togetherness in his community, Amesi, the educational system in Anambra, as well as the church.
"During his days as headmaster, church and community leader, late Pa Ozigbo showed himself as an icon to be emulated. His leadership brought a lot of innovation, peace and unity at different areas of his endeavor." He concluded
