Prepare to Go to Jail after 2023 Election - Ohanaeze Youths To Governors' Forum

...Says Governors are responsible for crimes against humanity

The Apex Socio-cultural youth organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has sternly warned the Nigeria Governors Forum under the leadership of Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State to steer- clear from the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

Speaking to newsmen at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, on Sunday, March 13, 2023, the National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council and Spokesman of Indigenous Ethnic Youth Leaders of Nigeria, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka, frowned at what he bluntly described as "the over ambitious political mentality of the failed Governors in Nigeria since 1999.

This followed a report credited to Dirisu Yakubu, a Vanguard Correspondent in Abuja, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, stating that "Nigerian Governors' Forums of All Progressives Congress, APC and People's Democratic Party, PDP have been meeting and consulting on producing the Presidential candidates of both the APC and the PDP" , and that their consultations have advanced to a level of reaching consensus on who they are to front in the two political parties to contest for president, come 2023 presidential election.  "In a matter of days, the Governors will make a formal declaration in this direction”, the report said.

Comrade Igboayaka who reacted to the said publication, shortly after a consultation meeting of the Council, in readiness for the forthcoming 2022 Southern Nigeria Ethnic Youth Summit coming up soon in Owerri, Imo State's capital, described the ploy by the two leading parties as despotic, nothing that it would end in futility.

"Nigeria Governors Forum's conspiracy to merge APC and PDP presidential candidates is effort in futility.

The corruption tendency and tyrannic approaches of the States Governors over local government elections, mismanaging and diversion of local government councils' funds are definitions of incompetent and mediocrity characterized by criminal attitude and such a class of political gangsters in Nigeria can not be trusted with Nigerian Treasury in the office of the president.

"In obvious reality, the Nigeria Governors Forum(NGF) of the 36 members are the real enemies to Nigeria Youths. They have denied Nigerian youths of political growth and robust economic opportunities to square up with their counterparts in other nations of the world. With Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) record of 774 local government and 8,809 wards since 1999, the Nigeria Governors Forum(NGF) have denied 18, 576 youths opportunity to be local government Chairman/Vice Chairmen and 105,708 youths the opportunity to be Councillors which brought to a total number of 124,284 politically incapacitated youths in various Local government areas and various wards in Nigeria. With the two years tenure for LGA Chairman and Councillors, the local government Councils elections could have been conducted 12 times", Comrade Igboayaka recounted.

 Igboayaka who

described the mischievous attitudes of Nigerian Governors as high level of executive impunity and rascality in state governance, and

charged members of Nigeria Governors Forum to "give account of the 20.6% monthly federal allocations to the 3rd tiers of the government, which reportedly amounts to billions of naira."

The ebullient mouth-piece of Igbo youths blamed the hike in crimes and criminalities across the nation on the ineptitude of Governors of various states, while insisting that the they should prepare to account for the LGA funds entrusted in their hands or otherwise face the wrath of the Law. He said their encumbrances and misgovernance amount to crimes against humanity.

Speaking blankly, Igboayaka who accused Nigerian Governors Forum of being the cabal responsible for the penurious state of Nigerians particularly in the rural areas, said:

"It is the failure and criminality of Nigerian Governors Forum, inability to conduct elections to produce democratic elected Chairmen and Councillors as at when due that resulted in the high level of criminality in our localities, ranging from kidnapping, insurgency, bandits and armed-robberies.

"Nigerian Governors Forum should be ready to account for the LGA funds entrusted in their hands or should be ready to go to jail, because this criminality among them will not be swept under the carpet but will be enforced in the Court of competent jurisdictions as they hand over in 2023.

"Nigerian Governors Forum is the cabal that impoverished Nigerians at the rural areas; they're the real enemies of Nigeria, especially Nigerian youths. They have kept us in abject poverty and penury since 1999 till date. Igboayaka stated.

Furthermore, Igboayaka opined that none of the present Governors in Nigeria, whether in PDP and APC, s qualified to be the presidential flag bearer in the forthcoming 2023 elections. He advised the youths to hold the Governors responsible, because they are the cause of 70% reason of poverty in Nigeria.

"Nigerian Governors Forum should rally round for Nigerian president of Southeast extraction with a credible and competent presidential candidates without scandal on misappropriation of local government councils' funds", Igboayaka concluded.
