UZODIMMA INITIATES INDUSTRIAL POLICY FOR IMO STATE


In partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a specialized Agency of the World Body that assists Nations in Economic and Industrial Development, the Imo State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has initiated an Industrial Policy for Imo State.


At the event which engaged Stakeholders for the drafting of the Industrialization Policy, took place at the Imo Concord Hotel wherein His Excellency stated that this would be an all encompassing industry policy for the benefit of all Imolites. The policy which is geared towards strengthening the Imo economy to overcome challenges and reduce dependency on Federal Allocation, would result in resilience against any drawbacks.


With various policies and programs of the Shared Prosperity Administration on Industrialization, this roadmap formulation in partnership with UNIDO, would complement on the later thereby giving rise to further improvements on the State’s ease of doing business - in translation, an improved economic stability for Ndi Imo.


It is therefore worthy of note that this Policy Initiative is the first of its kind in Imo State according to the UNIDO Consultant in Nigeria, Dr. Francis Ofodire during his presentation. He added that Governor Hope Uzodimma has indeed made a giant step in partnering with UNIDO for the development of the roadmap for the state as past administrations have failed to prioritize the right enhancement for the economy of the State and promised that he and his team will come up with a transparent and efficient policy for Imo State.

Valentine Ozigbo Resigns from Labour Party

In a shocking move, against all speculations over the last few days, Valentine Ozigbo, a close ally of Peter Obi, has announced his resignation from the Labour Party (LP).
