-CALLS FOR UNITY AND TOLERANCE IN OUR POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS LIFESTYLE
The APC in Imo state has felicitated with Imo people and Nigerians on the 61st Independence anniversary of the country. In a press release made avaliable to newsmen in Owerri, the party said that "As a leading and governing political party in Imo State in particular and Nigeria in general, we take pride in our collective commitment to the Nigerian project through the celebration of this remarkable milestone in our journey to nationhood."
They maintained that this celebration reminds us of the solemn sacrifice of our founding fathers, who laid the foundation of this great nation as well as the contributions of the gallant members of the Armed Forces, many of whom have paid the supreme price to keep our country safe and united. As we reflect on the journey so far.
The APC in Imo however states that they are pleased to appreciate Nigerians for upholding the sacred values that binds us together as one people in the face of our diversities.
Continuing the party stressed that it is worthy of note that regardless of daunting challenges and various cogs on our wheel of national progress, we recognize and appreciate that as a nation, Nigeria has recorded tremendous achievements in economic and political evolution in the last sixty-one years.
The APC however maintained that "We consider it expedient, to use this auspicious occasion to felicitate with nde Imo, and Nigerians in general, for their resilience, faith as well as individual and collective sacrifices, commitment, and contribution to the oneness, peace and progress of our country, irrespective of our different political and religious inclinations."
The party however commended the shared faith and trust in the indivisibility of the Nigeria, Nigerians have continued to overcome and triumph over ethno-religious and political intolerance, insecurity and other threats to building a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous black nation, the pride of Africa.
In all they commended the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari led administration in pulling back Nigeria from the precipice of economic collapse and infrastructural decay occasioned by endemic institutional corruption that pervaded our national landscape before the coming on board of the APC led government. "We are glad that Nigeria has regained its pride of place in the comity of nations through the anti-corruption stands of President Muhammadu Buhari."
"We are grateful to God that in spite of the permutations of pessimists and the mechanizations of unscrupulous political mercantile against our collective achievements, Nigerian under President Buhari has continued to break new grounds, both on local and international scenes; restoring our pride and dignity as the most resilient, resourceful and enterprising people of the black race of the world."
The party said that In Imo State, "we cannot but continue to appreciate our ebullient and phenomenal governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, a man whose sense of urgency to fulfill his vision and mission as encapsulated under the “3R’’mantra of this administration (Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery) is on a supersonic speed with unmitigated precision and clinical finishing. Today, we are proud governor Uzodimma has finally restored our people’s confidence in the business of governance."
They however noted that it is important to use this very symbolic moment to once again congratulate the governor for rising to the demands of his office and overcoming the challenge of insecurity in Imo state. "Today, economic activities have return to its fullness. Worthy of note, was the governor’s calm disposition in the face of those challenging times."
"Our gratitude and appreciation goes to the good people of Imo State for their unalloyed support and unflinching solidarity to the APC led administration of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma. We assure Imolites, that their confidence and support to this administration and our party will never be taken for granted, as we remain focused and committed to the overall wellbeing of the people at all times."
Finally, the APC in Imo felicitate with Imolites and Nigerians in general on this occasion of Nigeria at 61, as they reiterated their call for unity as well as political and religious tolerance amongst Nigerians. "It is our common faith that our strength as a nation lies in our diversity. We must continue to respect our plurality and ethno religious and political differences to achieve a peaceful and prosperous nation on the sacred foundation of justice, equity and fairness."
