The Chairman of NUPENG Anambra state chapter, Chief Peter Nwosu, who also doubles as the SSA to Governor Willie Obiano on Petroleum matters has called for calm from the general public on the recent increase and scarcity of petroleum products in the state.
He made this call on a telephone interview with our correspondent, in Nnewi yesterday while addressing some of the issues that brought about the development.
He said that " the problem is just artificial scarcity based on the problem the Union has with Imo state government, so it now affected Anambra, and the whole South East. We are on top of it now as we have started meeting with the governor in Abuja and we believe it will yeild positive results.
On the artificial hike by some members of the Union, Chief Nwosu said that a taskforce has been set up to fish out those who are cheating on the people by hiking the price of petroleum products. He however pleaded on them to stop the profiteering using there fellow Nigerians. He said that sanctions await any Petroleum station in Anambra state that violets the order of not selling above pump price as there station will be sealed.
