IMO MARKETERS IMBROGLIO, SUNAZ OIL CLAIM --A FALSEHOOD

The Government of Imo State has observed with dismay that the claims of demolition made by Sunaz Oil Limited which led to Oil Marketers and Tanker Drivers embarking on strike action that caused the State a fortune was a total fabrication aimed at discrediting the Shared Prosperity Government in Imo State.

A fact finding visit to SUNAZ Petrol Station in Orlu to assess the level of damage as claimed by the Proprietor shows that the Filling station was slightly touched at the perimeter fence as against the bogus claim by the Proprietor that the entire filling station was removed and he is unable to fend for his family, pay his bills, pay his employees and meet up with his daily needs where all lies and unfounded.

The visit which was led by the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba accompanied by some journalists to ascertain the extent of damage that provoked the claim by Sunaz Oil was discovered to be false as the petrol station was still standing and operational and some eye witnesses said that earlier on that day Tuesday 31st of August the station dispensed PMS to the general public.

It is then incomprehensive why an indigene of the State would embarrass the government and people of Imo State by putting up a claim and at the same time incite his colleagues (Oil Marketers and Tanker Drivers) to embark on total strike that crippled the economy of the State without waiting for all court processes to be completed. Obviously "there is more to it than meets the eye."

Hon. Emelumba while addressing the Press appealed to the citizens of the State to talk to the petroleum marketers and tanker drivers to search their conscience and justify the reason for the unwarranted action as it is rumored that they are warming up to embark on another strike in the next two weeks if they are not paid the court judgment debt.

To verify the truth of the matter the Commissioner enjoined Imo people and men of goodwill to assist in uncovering the real truth behind the threat of strike actions and blackmailing of the Imo State government to pay a compensation of N100million for a claim that is total falsehood.
