Buhari Visit: Dr. Uzoma Obiyo Commends Senator Uzodinma On His Leadership Qualities

As Muhammadu Buhari, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria visits Imo State on a state working visit, a chieftain of the ruling party, an entrepreneur and illustrious son of Imo State, Dr. Uzoma Obiyo has commended Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, Executive Governor of Imo State on this historical visit of Mr. President. President Buhari, who will be the first sitting president to visit Imo State on a working visit since the past 12 years is expected to commission numerous projects built by 3R Shared Prosperity Government led by Senator Hope Uzodinma.

While addressing some stakeholders in the state preparatory to Mr. President's visit, Dr. Obiyo extolled Senator Uzodinma's achievements in the less than two years he is governor. Hear Dr. Obiyo:

"in less than two years in office, our governor has succeeded in curbing vehicular traffic congestion in Owerri City Centre through the provision of modern interchange overs at major junctions in the city. Owerri is no longer flooded as before during heavy rains because of the construction of underground ballon drainage system. Before the governor came on board, it is disheartening to note that students of two major federal higher institutions in the state (Federal University of Technology and Federal Polytechnic all in Owerri passed through hell to access their school communities. As at today, Senator Hope Uzodinma has not only reconstructed the road linking this two schools but has provided modern street lightening to ease night life along the road stretching from Naze to FUTO junction at Obinze".

Continuing,  he said; "What the governor needs now is our collective support to succed and not unnecessary bickering. May I use this opportunity to call on our teeming youths and critical stakeholders in the state and entire South East region to come out in large numbers to welcome Mr. President. This visit is unique as it is the first official visit of Mr. President to South East since his reelection in 2019. We should set aside our political differences and maximise the opportunity of this visit."

The visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Imo State is scheduled on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Most state governors from South East and beyond are expected to be in Owerri to give Mr President, a rousing reception.
