Embattled former Governor of Imo states and Senator Representing Imo West in the National Assembly, Senator Rochas Okorocha, rattled by the recovery drive of the Imo State Government has filed over 120 cases in various courts across the nation, seeking to stop the Government from recovering stolen funds and assets.
This was disclosed by His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma when the National Union of Pensioners reminded him about the N26.5B bail out funds received under the administration of Okorocha and meant for pensions and gratuity, which he promised during his campaign to recover when he becomes Governor.
His Excellency made it know that upon resumption of office, the issue of bailout funds were prominent on issues unaccounted for and further review necessitated a recovery plan as the funds had been misappropriated by the previous administration.
The Governor noted that his administration however is not deterred by these numerous legal battles instituted by the former Governor to subvert the course of justice. He reassured of the commitment in the recovery of all funds and assets stolen from the state by anyone.
