PDP Govs flag off electronic membership registration, declares total support for Ozigbo


Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today flagged of electronic membership registration exercise for the party in Anambra State.


The governors, Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State said the party flagged off the event in Anambra because of the November 6 gubernatorial poll in the state.


The governors, led by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State also assured victory for the party’s governorship candidate, Mr Valentine Ozigbo and his deputy, Mrs Azuka Enemo. They however enjoined the electorate in the state to obtain their voters cards, to be eligible to vote for the party in this year's Election.


Governor Obaseki, who is the Chairman of E-Registration exercise said, “We chose Anambra State as first state to launch it due to the November 6 gubernatorial poll. The leadership of the party across 326 electoral wards would drive the registration among the populace.”


In the same vein, Governor, Seyi Makinde and Okezie Ikpeazu also urged party faithful in the state not to be deterred or afraid over anything as the PDP leaders across Nigeria would work tirelessly with them for success of Ozigbo in the forth coming election in the state.


They enjoined Anambrains to get ready to vote and protect their votes from the polling unit to collation centres, till victory is assured, because according to them, their destinies are in their hands.


Senator Uche Ekwunife, who is the Chairperson of Valentine Ozigbo Campaign Council, called for unity of purpose among PDP leaders with a view to ensuring victory for Ozigbo.


The Governorship candidate of the party, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, in his response however stated that the importance of the electronic registration is to the PDP and implored eligible voters in the state to equally participate on the continuous voters registration so to qualify to vote.

Valentine Ozigbo Resigns from Labour Party

In a shocking move, against all speculations over the last few days, Valentine Ozigbo, a close ally of Peter Obi, has announced his resignation from the Labour Party (LP).
