Following the prompt rescue and evacuation of Imo State Students from Jos, the Plateau State capital, the Imo State Government last night received the students as they arrived Owerri, the State Capital.
Recall that the city of Jos was struck by crisis which necessitated the prompt rescue of Imolites stranded and wishing to be evacuated. This number largely fell on the category of students and the Imo State Government swung into action to effect their rescue.
Irrespective of their final destination, those desirous of rescue were evacuated and taken to a safe departure point while others arrived Owerri last night and received at the Government House by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku, on behalf of the state Government.
The visibly elated rescued students, couldn't hold back their joy as they expressed gratitude to the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for coming to their aid. With various inscriptions on placards, they expressed *their joy and happiness as proud Imolites.*
The State Government congratulated the students for keeping up in good spirit and faith while the diplomatic proceedings leading to their rescue lasted. The Chief of staff Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehie delivered a message from His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to the students, which centered on encouraging the students to keep faith alive.
