ICAN CHAIR COMMENDS EEDC FOR CONSISTENT IMPROVEMENT IN ITS SERVICE DELIVERY.



The Chairman, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Enugu and District Society, Mr. Emmanuel Ekene Nnamani, has commended the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) for the consistent improvement in the quality of its services in Enugu and other states within its coverage area.

This commendation was made by the ICAN Chairman on Friday in Enugu during a courtesy visit to the EEDC Corporate Headquarters, in company of members of his Executive Committee.

The ICAN team was received by the Managing Director/CEO, EEDC, Engr. Praveen Chorghade, in company of the Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Paul Okeke and other management staff.

According to Nnamani, the team were at EEDC to familiarise the Society with their very senior members and to appreciate the company for the improvement recorded in its services across the South East.

"The economy of the South East is dependent on the quality of services EEDC renders and we are here to encourage the company to keep up the good work".

He used the opportunity to highlight the various activities of the Institute and solicit the support of EEDC towards the Institute's upcoming investiture scheduled for the 8th of August, 2021.

Nnamani also requested that its members who are staff of EEDC should be encouraged to participate in their varoius trainings and activities, as they provide opportunity for skills and knowledge upgrade, as well as avenue for networking.

In his welcome remark, Engr. Chorghade appreciated the ICAN team for their visit and encouragement, while enlightening them on activities of EEDC in ensuring that it meets the expectations of its customers, he also highlighted the challenges the company has been contending with in the course of its operations.

Engr. Chorghade, assured the Institute of leveraging the opportunities presented to upgrade its employees so they can positively impact on the organisation.

"I believe that training and staff development is one thing that we should all be committed to, else we will be left behind".

The Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Paul Okeke, thanked the ICAN team for their visit and promised to support the Institute. He invited the Executive Committee members to be ambassadors and advocates of EEDC.

"We want you to join us spread the knowledge and information you have grabbed in this our engagement as the knowledge gap that is existing within our space is a great challenge to our operations"
