YPP Anambra holds Special Congress for Gubernatorial election

~ As Ifeanyi Ubah emerges consensus candidate

Anambra state Young Progressives Party (YPP) on Saturday 19th June 2021 held it's  Gubernatorial Primary Election at Wintex Gardern Hotel, Ifite road, Awka, Anambra state, which produced Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah with 108 votes. 

Senator Ubah emerged the candidate of Young Progressives Party (YPP) in a free and fair process, based on the party's guidelines. The primary election had INEC, DSS, Police and members of the Fourth Estate of the realm who monitored the process.

The returning officer for the Primary Election, Videyemo Bamaiyi however cleared the erroneous narratives on various media houses that Senator Ubah emerged the candidate of the party on Thursday last week, but said that he was rather cleared by the National working committe of the party to enable him contest for the Primary Election. 

He further stated that Senator Ubah was the only aspirant who purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms for the contest of the gubernatorial election in the state, even after months of advertising it. 
Videyemo Bamaiyi, while announcing the results of the primary election which followed the option A4 model, declared Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah winner with 108 out of 109 delegates that voted for the Primary Election. He therefore congratulated the Senator for emerging the party's flag bearer, as he was presented with the certificate of return, and the party's flag. 

In his response, the flag bearer of YPP in the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, thanked party delegates for standing firm behind him, which ensured his emergence. Senator Ubah also thanked his constituents for also standing firmly behind his aspiration to chart a new course for Ndi Anambra. Senator Ubah in a special way also thanked his fellowers and everyone who has worked tirelessly to see that the vision to better the lives of Ndi Anambra becomes a reality. 
The delegation from INEC who were on ground to monitor the party primary, also commended the process and direction taken by YPP which ensured a peaceful Primary. Mr. Damian Akhamhe, while speaking on behalf of other INEC officers that witnessed the party Primaries said, that he was pleased that the Primary Election which produced Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was inline with party guidelines, and appreciated the party for the free, fair and peaceful process.

Valentine Ozigbo Resigns from Labour Party
