On the occasion of the 2021 International Children's Day which is marked on 27th of May annually, the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Education has launched a programme tagged "Children Accident Prevention Initiative (CAPI) Be Seen and Be Safe".
Delivering his address at the launch of the Programme today in Abuja, the Hon. Minister of State for Education Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba said that the Federal Government remains committed towards the all inclusive safe academic environment for all learners hence the conceptualization and launch of CAPI.
The Hon. Minster disclosed that senior officers of the Federal Ministry of Education have been drafted to supervise the distribution of the CAPI materials as well as to play advisory roles in the CAPI process in order to ensure the effective implementation of the Programme.
Speaking further, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba said" we implore all interest groups including local and international donors to support this Programme as a humanitarian act"
"Our support of this Programme will invariably eliminate road accidents. The challenge on ground is to ensure the sustenance of Go to School, be seen and be free." The Hon. Minister concluded.
