The leading People's Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship aspirant in the November 6 election, Engr. Chris Emeka Azubogu, has applauded religious organisations for their contributions to the growth and expansion of the education and health sectors in Anambra State.
Religious organizations, especially the Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostal churches, have huge social service investments especially schools and hospitals, in Anambra State.
Engr. Azubogu, who spoke at St. Michael and All Angel Anglican Church, Nawfia, during the 12th Synod thanksgiving service of Awka Diocese, Anglican Communion.
According to Azubogu, who is the member representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, “I must say that I am in solidarity with the Church especially as its concerns the society. The role of the churches over the years on area of education and health sector development in ANAMBRA State is something that we must continue to protect.
“I am interested in partnering with the churches on area of Education and Health sector development which helps in the development of human capital of our people and the entire state. Check most of the early schools and hospitals in Anambra State, they are owned by churches and today, the church have sustained these mention legacies and I am committed to partnering with them towards sustaining these legacy.”
Azubogu thanked His Lordship, The Rt. Reverend Alexander Ibezim, priests and parishioners, for their effort in shaping the society.
