The minister of state for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba today presented 20 new private universities with licenses to enable them kick off academic sessions in the country.
In a colourfull event today which is a clear testament to the continued partnership between Government and the Private Sector for the widening of access to quality education in the Nigerian University system, Hon Nwajiuba presented to these private universities these licenses as a show of Federal Goverment commitment towards ensuring that education gets to the grassroots.
In his words, Nwajiuba said " I am delighted on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria to present provisional licences to 20 new private universities as approved by the Federal Executive Council at it's 3rd meeting held on 3rd February 2021."
Continuing, he stated that "It is hoped that the government, while making efforts at addressing the issues of access to University education and enrolment of students in excess of carrying capacity by existing universities has been able to bridge some gaps with the current addition of the 20 new universities" he concluded
