Ibeto facilitates reconciliation at Okpuno Ebenator

Okpuno Ebenator in Uruagu community of Nnewi was agog on Saturday as the age long disagreement which has raged on for years, which almost teared the community apart was settled through the facilitation of Dr Cletus Ibeto( Omekannaya) the CEO of Ibeto Group.


Okpuno Ebenator community for over 80 years has remained in logger heads over issues that remained unresolved, untill Dr Cletus Ibeto came to the rescue. His resolve was to ensure that peace reigns in his own ancestry community, as he used the peace and reconciliation process to register with his ancestry background, which the community has longed for, all these years.


While interacting with newsmen, Dr Cletus Ibeto said that he should now be addressed as an Indigene of Okpuno Ebenator community living in Otolo Nnewi community, and asked that his house in Otolo should be regarded as if it's in Okpuno Ebenator community by extension. 


He thanked Hon. Iloka ( Mba Mba) the chairman of the peace and reconciliation committe for insisting that the truth should be at the front burner, which was basically why they got the desired result. He therefore called on other towns with similar issues to throw away pride and come together for peace brings about progress he said.


In the same vien the Obi of Okpuno Ebenator community Chief Afam Iloka Obi, thanked Dr Cletus Ibeto and the peace and reconciliation committe for their proactive efforts that made it possible for peace to return in his community. He thanked God that it was during his reign that peace which has eluded the community for over 80 years has been restored. He called on members of his community to close ranks to ensure that the peace that has come to Okpuno Ebenator community remains and grows. He also in a special way thanked Dr Cletus Ibeto (Omekannaya) and family members for retracing to their roots. A development he said is most welcomed in the community.


Adding his voice, the Chairman of Okpuno Ebenator community, Tony Okeke thanked God for making it possible for peace to return to the community after over 80 years. He commended everyone that was instrumental to the peace process and used the opportunity to officially welcome Dr Cletus Ibeto (Omekannaya) back to his place of birth. 


The Chairman of peace and reconciliation committe, Hon. Iloka (Mba Mba) was visibly elated as he went down memory lane to highlight, that the major issues which caused the problems have been trashed, and a common ground insituted for the allocation of community resources according to Traditonal precepts. He thanked in a special Dr Cletus Ibeto (Omekannaya) for answering the clarion call when it mattered most, and believed that the peace that has returned to Okpuno Ebenator community will remain forever.
