VALENTINE OZIGBO WISHES NIGERIANS HAPPY VALENTINE: PREACHES SELFLESS PRACTICE OF LOVE

Valentine Ozigbo, the leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, has admonished Nigerians, to reflect and manifest love in all their dealings with one another as the world celebrates St. Valentine's Day.

In a statement issued on Sunday, February 14, 2021, in Awka, the Anambra State capital, Mr Ozigbo stressed the importance of selflessness, compromise, and unconditional love.

According to Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, Valentine's Day should not be a one-day celebration exclusively for friends and families or lovers. In fact, it should be the real essence of our existence - to positively touch as many lives as possible, every day.

"As we mark this year's Valentine's Day let us show and share unconditional love, let us spread the goodwill message of love to one another, especially those who are less fortunate than we are," Ozigbo said.

"There is an abundance of scientific research which confirms that acts of kindness have positive benefits on the person performing the action and the person who receives it. Research has gone further to provide evidence that even the bystanders who witness an act of kindness receive the act's positive benefits.

"There is no tool more powerful in building a progressive society than compassionate acts of kindness. Love has the ability, when deployed appropriately, to transform our country and set us on the path of peace.

"The Lord Jesus Christ, through His selfless benevolence, has taught us the essence of our existence. As we go about the celebration today, let us remind ourselves of the things that are truly important in our lives," the respected business leader added.

Ozigbo, one of Nigeria's most recognisable philanthropists, ended his statement by wished Nigerians a Happy Valentine's Day Celebrations and urged them to stay safe and comply with all COVID-19 protocols.
