Valentine Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, on Saturday, February 27, 2021, commiserated with the family of late Bishop (Dr) Arthur Nwachukwu, a celebrated clergyman who was the founder and Bishop of Rhema Deliverance Mission International.
Bishop Nwachukwu passed away at the age of 78.
During the condolence visit to the Nwachukwu's at their family home in Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr Ozigbo eulogized the late Bishop, describing him as "a gospel legend".
"If you consider what the late Bishop Nwachukwu has achieved in this world, you can't but pay homage," the respected business leader and philanthropist said.
"I am confident that Bishop's legacy of leadership and service to humanity will continue for generations to come. He was a gospel legend who has left an indelible mark in the history of Nigeria and Africa," Ozigbo added.
Ozigbo consoled the bereaved family and encouraged them to comfort that their father left a lasting legacy. He expressed joy all the Bishop's sons have carried on the family tradition of working in the vineyard of the Lord.
He urged them to live by the ideals of service, love, and unity that their patriarch embodied.
The late Bishop Nwachukwu is survived by his wife, Reverend (Dr) Patricia Nwachukwu, a daughter, Mrs Christiana Nwokolo and five sons - Prophet (Dr) Chidozie Nwachukwu is the Bishop-elect and Senior Pastor of Rhema Faith Cathedral; Prophet (Dr) Anene Nwachukwu is the Senior Pastor of Rhema International Prophetic Center, Lagos; Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu is a successful medical practitioner and the Senior Pastor of Rhema Church, Awka; Prophet Barrister Ejike Nwachukwu is the Senior Pastor of Rhema Cathedral, Nnewi; while Apostle Chukwuebuka Nwachukwu is the Senior Pastor of Rhema Mountain Cathedral, Umunya.
Mr Ozigbo, who is the frontrunner in Peoples Democratic Party's gubernatorial race, was accompanied to the wedding by several members of his campaign organization including Rt. Hon. Eucharia Azodo, a former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and a two-time member of the Federal House of Representatives; Sir Tim Egboka, a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly; Chief Ikechukwu Akaeze, a former Chairman of the PDP in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
Others are Sir Izuchukwu Oraelosi, the general manager of Valentine Chineto Ozigbo Foundation; Chief Damian Nwafor; Mrs Cordelia Ibah, VCO Woman Frontliner in Idemili South, Comrade Innocent Ugwo, the leaders of the VCO Youth Movement, and several others.
