2023 Presidency: Young Nigerian Voices, Diaspora Coordinator, Drums Support For Nwajiuba

Diaspora Coordinator of Young Nigerian Voices, Chief Nnanna Okere has called on Nigerians from all walks of life to support a President of South East extraction come 2023. He however endorsed the minister of state for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba towards taking a shot at the presidency and is very optimistic that he will become the next Nigerian President.

Chief Okere who is the coordinator of Imo Diasporas Support group for Senator Hope Uzodinma Governorship Election in 2019, said for the sake of justice and equity, the next president of Nigeria, should come from South East to balance the generational  power shift of the presidencyz and a younger personality and political leader like Nwajiuba, should be given all the necessary to achieve this vision.

Going down memory lane, he recounted thar the political trajectory of Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba over the years, and why he is fit for the job  can't be contested. He however said that, he first met the minister when he (Nnanna Okere) was a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member and the then lawmaker at the National Assembly helped to make him settle down as quickly as possible when he was posted to serve at the National Assembly. He also recalled that many youth corps members who served at the National Assembly at the time can attest to his caring nature and his disposition towards the welfare of corps members.

He went on to say that Hon. Nwajiuba  “He was called to the Nigerian bar in 1989, after pursuing his LLM at University of Lagos and PhD at the University of Jos, respectively. He had served as House of Representatives committee chairman on Land, Housing and works from 1999 to 2003 before contesting Imo governorship on the platform of APP in 2003, 2007 and as CPC candidate in 2011.

“He was secretary of the Constitution Drafting Committee that produced the Constitution of the merger committee to form the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2013.  Nwajiuba contested the Imo State governorship election in 2003, challenging the then incumbent

governor, Chief Achike Udenwa of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has been

President Muhammadu Buhari’s most trusted ally from the time of APP till date.

“He coordinated the political pressure group that bought 2019 All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential nomination and expression of interest forms for President Muhammadu Buhari. Nwajiuba, remains a core APC member, won election into the House of Representatives to

represent Okigwe North Constituency under the ticket of the Accord Party in the 2019 poll. He defected to the ruling APC shortly after his nomination for ministerial position and subsequent screening by the Senate.

“ In the last five years as the minister of the Federal Republic he has performed excellently well and is regarded to be among the best performing ministers in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. A man with his pedigree from the South East is what this country needs to heal old wounds and unite Africa’s most populous nation.”

He therefore called on  Ndigbo to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) by registering en masse in the ongoing revalidation and registration exercise of the party and also join the push to make Nwajiuba the next president of Nigeria.

Chief Okere promised to mobilise the Diaspora community across Europe and the rest of the world to ensure, realization of a president of South East extraction, in 2023 and to also work for a young and dynamic leader like Nwajiuba to emerge the next president.

He insisted that Nwajiuba emerging president was doable, recalling how many people at the initial stage did not give Senator Hope Uzodinma chance of emerging governor of Imo State in 2019 until it was too late for the doubting Thomases. He noted that the Diaspora community,

especially those from Imo State played key roley in Uzodinma’s governorship victory, insisting that they could repeat same for Nwajiuba at the national level.
