.......ASSURES OF BRIGHTER DAYS AHEAD
The Honourable Minister of State for Education and three time Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba PhD, on sunday was in Owerri, Imo state for a crucial meeting with the Imo state Chapter of his 2023 Presidential Campaign outfit, Project Nigeria Group (PNG)
While addressing an array of high profile personalities who constitute the state leadership of Project Nigeria Group (PGN) drawn from the State Executive Committee and twenty seven Local Government Co-ordinators of the Group in the state, Rt Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba PhD, Hon Minister of State for Education
commended the Imo state leadership of Project Nigeria Group(PNG) for being proactive ,thoughtful and responsive in the discharge of their duties, adding that those that have volunteered to be part of this great movement will have cause to rejoice at the nick of time.
The Hon minister however stated that the Project Nigeria Group as a presidential campaign outfit is to project Nigeria more than anything else, hence its preoccupation, is all about Nigeria. He reiterated that he is in the race for the Presidency because he has what it takes to preside over the affairs of the Country given his robust political experience, academic qualifications, national contact and connection which cut across tribal and religious divides, good leadership qualities and enormity of goodwill he enjoys across the country.
Hon Nwajiuba further observed that there is a raging National debate cum discourse, over which part of the country is eligible to produce the next President of the Country come 2023,stressing that the clamour for a Nigerian President of Southeast extraction is obviously gaining currency and as an Igbo man that has been in the National political system for too long, that it was expected of him to make himself available and aspire for the coveted position.
On the issue of his relationship with the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma who by virtue of his position is the leader of the party in the State, the resourceful Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, reassured his supporters of his cordial working relationship with the Governor, whom he has already informed of his aspiration. He reminded the Project Nigeria Group leadership in Imo State that, he like other qualified aspirants for the Presidency are supposed to work hard for the position, since it can only be earned and not placed on a platter for any unprepared person to come and take as a family inheritance.
He further reemphasized that whoever, that would fly the flag of the party for the Presidential election must work with the APC Governors to emerge, and that there would be no magic outside working closely with the sitting Governors in this regard.
The minister further informed his team, that the working arrangement needed to excel in the present circumstances entails tacts, sound judgement, intelligent and sagacious approach, constructive engagements devoid of noise making. He reassured them that his disposition as former Federal Lawmaker and incumbent Minister has provided him with an advantage and exposure to be ahead of other Presidential hopefuls.
Hon Nwajiuba also stated that he is in the race because he should and not at the prompting of anybody, adding that at the appropriate time, the party and it's leadership would decide who picks its ticket for the Presidency and reassured that the road to his victory is broad and smooth.
In response, the National Secretary and Facilitator of Project Nigeria Group (PNG) Sir Chinedu Comrade Ogubuike (KSM) showed his appreciation to the leadership of the group for their sacrifices and efforts made so far, to strengthen its activities in Imo State ,especially for attending the meeting despite prevailing tight schedules at this yuletide season. He informed his audience that Imo was the first state amongst the thirty six States of the federation and Abuja to be honoured with the Honourable Minister's presence and formal interaction and assured that as the home State of Hon Nwajiuba, charity by all standard was supposed to start at home.
Comrade Ogubuike informed the Hon Minister and Principals of Project Nigeria Group (PNG) that the gathering made of the state Executive Committee and twenty seven local government Coordinators of the Campaign outfit were in the meeting to hear from the Minister one on one and to be reassured of the stakes and prospects of the project .
Whilst welcoming the Hon Minister of State for Education and their Principals to his Owerri residence, venue of the meeting, the Imo State Coordinator of Project Nigeria Group (PNG) Hon Chief Val Mbamala, first Executive Chairman of Orsu LGA and former Commissioner for Community Government Council in Imo State, thanked Hon Nwajiuba for finding time to come and interact with the state leadership of Project Nigeria Group (PNG) and reassured him of their readiness to sustain the tempo of good work already started.
Hon Mbamala urged the Minister to do his best and ensure that the dream of the members in producing the next President of Nigeria through him materializes ,adding that he has always been lucky to be part of the winning team in every election and expressed hope that Nwajiuba Presidential project will not be an exception.
Meanwhile ,some of those in attendance, especially local government Coordinators who spoke during the meeting were in agreement that Hon Nwajiuba has the national goodwill and acceptability to become the next President of Nigeria, especially now that the clamour for power shift to Southeast Nigeria is deafening and overwhelming. They pleaded with the Hon Minister and their Principal to always put them into consideration in the political scheme of things as the struggle rages on.
Amongst prominent personalities in attendance were the Okigwe zone Senator elect, Hon Frank Ibezim who was in the company of the Honourable Minister, Hon Barrister Soronadi Njoku, the former Attorney General of Imo State, and Owerri zone Coordinator of Project Nigeria Group (PNG), he also moderated the interactive meeting. Also present was Rt Hon Chika Madumere, former Deputy Speaker of imo State House of Assembly, and Orlu zone Coordinator of the Group and several others.
