Late Archbishop Johnathan Onyemelukwe, a renowned clergyman of the Anglican communion, who led the church in various positions from 1974 to 2000, establishing several educational institutions and branches of the church has been immortalized with an estate named in his honoured. Mr Enuma Okoli, promoter of Onyemelukwe Glory Estate revealed this to journalists in Anambra in a press conference recently. Okoli who is also a ranking member of the Anglican Communion said, "the need to immortalise Archbishop Onyemelukwe arose from his work in the Anglican Communion, during his time as Bishop of the diocese on the Niger. The estate which has been named after this powerful Man of God is situated in Umuegem, Ufuma, Orumba North LGA, and we want to recreate Victoria Island, Lagos there. THE federal government has given directives for the reopening of all schools in the country by October 12 This came after about six months closure of schools nationwide by the government to stem the transmission of COVID-19 pandemic. The minister of education, Adamu Adamu who made the announcement on Friday in Abuja, also directed all Federal Colleges also known as Unity schools, to reopen on October 12. Adamu who said the decision was reached after exhaustive discussions with education stakeholders in the public and private sector as well ad international and development partners, urged all state and private schools to work out their modalities to reopen their schools. He advised all institutions to obey and adhere to the presidential task force guidelines on reopening of schools.

The Royal Dutch Shell Plc has revealed plans to cut thousands of jobs globally, including in Nigeria. Anglo-Dutch giant, Royal Dutch Shell Plc, has concluded plans to cut as much as 9,000 jobs globally, including Nigeria, as part of its cost-cutting measure due to the crude oil crash and the oil firm’s move to overhaul its business to embrace clean energy. The oil and gas giant, which employed 83,000 workers at the end of last year, expects to save up to $2.5bn annually from the cost-cutting plan that includes shedding between 7,000 and 9,000 employees before the end of 2022. This represents as much as 11% of the workforce that includes about 1,500 people taking voluntary redundancy this year. The ongoing rehabilitation of Obodo-Ukwu and Ede Roads in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local has elicited rare commendation  for Senator Stella Oduah, representing Anambra North Senatorial zone in the Senate. The two roads are the most strategic in the area as they  connect Atani road leading to Senator Odua's ancestral home and Onitsha-Owerri Expressway.
