Agboedo United women protest arbitrary levy

A section of Traders in Agboedo United Market Nnewi, mostly women at the free zone, have lamented the arbitrary levy on daily on them by agents of Anambra state government. Nigerian Notch gathered, that the women who did not refuse to pay the levy, however stressed that they should be given time to organise themselves, because one who is on rent should pay, and as such they promised that they with come up with a resolution soon. In a brief interaction with Martha Mbonu (Nne Ugegbe) a trader in the market, she stressed that they are not truly happy with the way things are going in their section of market. She asked that government and its agents should be patient with them as they are just coming out from the lockdown. She promised that the women will organise themselves and revert back to the government as soon  as possible. Prince Angus Ojukwu's Murder: Family demands justice, tasks government to fish out perpetrators.

The family of former traditional ruler of Awka-Etiti in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, His Majesty, Igwe Joachim Okwudili Ojukwu, has called on government and security agencies in Anambra state to do justice in unraveling the perpetrators of the dastardly act, which resulted to of the murder of their son, Prince Angus Chukwuma Ojukwu. Prince Ojukwu, was recently murdered in cold blood by unknown persons at his Nkolofia country home, Awka Etiti, idemili South LGA of Anambra state. ONE DEAD, ANOTHER TRAPPED IN OBOSI BUILDING COLLAPSE

At least, one person has been confirmed dead; while another is still trapped when one storey building suddenly  collapsed at Umuota village, Obosi, in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, on Sunday, September 20. Nigerian Notch gathered that one person, a woman of about 40 years old, whose name is yet to be ascertained, was confirmed dead by a medical doctor; while her baby was responding to treatments; adding that her corpse has been deposited at St. Edward Mortuary in Obosi, for preservation. The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Haruna Mohammed, also confirmed the development in an official statement, Sunday evening. "The incident occurred at about 4:30pm on Sunday. MAN KILLED IN ANAMBRA COMMUNITY FRACAS

 A  44-yea-old man, identified as Osondu Ike, yesterday, lost his life during an altercation that broke out at a drinking joint at Uruezeani village, Allor, Idemili South local government area of Anambra state. An eyewitness told our reporter that  the deceased, who was having a Sunday get together with friends, at a drinking joint, suddenly got into a hot argument with one on the boys, whose name was not ascertained as at press time. "Some boys in our community were having their usual Sunday get together at a joint at Uruezeani village. Boys do gather there every Sunday to drink and make merry; but this Sunday's get together turned bloody; when a fracas broke out between two. "When they started fighting, one called Osondu, fell on the ground, and the one fighting with him started marching him on the chest, and he collapsed. If APC Had Won In Edo

By Agunwa Emeka Nzeribe_ I marked my 53rd birthday on Sunday, September 20, 2020 with my immediate family. It coincided with collation and declaration of Edo State Governorship Election results. As usual, some people had expected to read my contributions and updates to that effect. This was not possible due to sober reflection, praises and thanksgiving to my creator for His abundant grace and infinite mercies.  The Edo State Governorship Election has come and gone with candidate of the PDP who is the incumbent governor declared re-elected. In every contest, there must be a winner and a loser. The Edo election did come with many lessons learnt. The exercise is remarkable in the sense that it was an election where nobody called President Muhammadu Buhari names. He was rather hailed for ensuring an enabling playing ground for the  contestants. INEC Declares Obaseki Winner of Edo Guber.

Benin –  Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godswill Obaseki, has been declared re-elected for another four-year term. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having won 307,955 votes in yesterday’s governorship ballot as against 223,619 by his main rival, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was declared winner at about 2:00 p.m. by the Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Akpofure Rem-Rukeh.   Obaseki beat Ize-Iyamu including in the later’s home local government area, Orhionmwon. The election held yesterday was generally peaceful and witnessed high turnout of voters.
