Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial zone has started the distribution of palliatives  as part of measures to alleviate the hardship and cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging Ndi Anambra. To this end, he says he has commenced the distribution of palliatives to the good people of Anambra across the 21 Local Government Areas in our state. Moving forward he said he is aware that the present situation is deeply an unsettling and difficult time for his people, as the disruption of their daily sources of livelihood and economic activities have incurred a huge and devastating impact on their ability to meet their most basic needs. Senator Ubah stressesd that it was on that note he had to combine public health efforts with palliative measures so as to prevent hunger/food insecurity from creating further health and social challenges in our state. The commissioner of police, Anambra state police command, CP John Abang will commence directives of the federal government on keeping of curfew in Anambra state, from Monday 4th May 2020. He made this disclosure in a press release made available to newsmen in Awka, the Anambra state capital, by the PPRO SP Haruna Mohammed. Kano state government on Sunday acknowledged recent deaths in Kano, promising that the state Government is on top of the situation, as Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has already directed the state Ministry of Health to conduct a thorough investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the deaths. In a Statement made available to journalists in Kano, the state Commissioner of Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, said although investigation into the cause of the deaths is still ongoing, preliminary report from the state Ministry of Health indicated that the deaths are not connected to the COVID-19 pandemic.
