MAN KILLED IN ANAMBRA COMMUNITY FRACAS

 A 44-yea-old man, identified as Osondu Ike, yesterday, lost his life during an altercation that broke out at a drinking joint at Uruezeani village, Allor, Idemili South local government area of Anambra state.


An eyewitness told our reporter that the deceased, who was having a Sunday get together with friends, at a drinking joint, suddenly got into a hot argument with one on the boys, whose name was not ascertained as at press time.

"Some boys in our community were having their usual Sunday get together at a joint at Uruezeani village. Boys do gather there every Sunday to drink and make merry; but this Sunday's get together turned bloody; when a fracas broke out between two.

"When they started fighting, one called Osondu, fell on the ground, and the one fighting with him started marching him on the chest, and he collapsed. When the person fighting him observed that Osondu collapsed, he ran away. That is the much I know about the issue," said the witness, who introduced herself as Eliza, a shop owner at the area.

When contacted, the President-General of Alor People's Convention, Barr. Ephraim Agubalu, confirmed the development to New Telegraph.

He said: "I've just been informed of what happened in my community; that there was an altercation between two persons, leading to the death of one of them. 

"Already, I've directed vigilante operatives to take charge, and investigate what happened, and to notify the police as soon as possible."

when contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, said the information has not gotten to his desk. He said, however, that he would find out the detail, and relay the information accordingly.
