The Chairman of New Motor Cycle Spare Parts Association, Nnewi, Hon. Obinna Okechukwu has commended the efforts of Anambra state government, led by Chief Willie Obiano towards combating the covid19 scourge ravaging the world, which Anambra is part of.
In an interactive session with our correspondent in Nnewi, Hon. Obinna Okechukwu thanked the governor for ensuring that Ndi Anambra did not contact the deadly virus through so many proactive measures, which include the shutting down of all land borders,the setting up of a covid19 response committee headed by himself and the delivery Of first Batch of rice for the Elderly in the state.
He said that the governor as promised, has taken delivery of the first batch of rice meant for elderly people in the state, from 70 Years and above, which is in line with the promise of the State Government in response to the fight against Corona Virus Disease in the state, to ensure strict compliance of the stay at home directive by the state government.
Hon. Okechukwu said that he is happy that the distribution of the rice to the 179 communities in Anambra State will commence on Wednesday 1st April, 2020.
He therefore called on all traders in NASPA and beyond to observe strict compliance of the government's directive to stay safe and healthy, until the scourge is contained by health professionals. He stressed that the stay at home directive is for the good of all because the virus which is novel is still a problem to the world, and was happy that the compliance in NASPA is 100%. He promised to keep the traders posted on any measures by the state government, to further ameliorate the envisaged slow down in business because of the scourge.
He called on the people of Anambra state to continue supporting the APGA led government in the state, towards delivering the dividends of democracy to them. He also tasked the traders to report to any nearest health centre any case of dry cough, high fever and difficulty in breathing which are the signs of this deadly virus, he concluded.
