In there usual manner of helping the less privileged, Nnewi Progressive Youths Movement today, paid tuition fees for the less privileged but brilliant pupils of Uruagu Central School, Uruagu, Nnewi North LGA.
The payment of tuition fees cuts across Nnewi and other communities,
as it is not just limited to Nnewi Indigenes alone, but to outstanding pupils,
who have through knowledge and understanding, distinguished themselves from
their peers.
The visit which was indeed a surprise package for the pupils
was a way of giving back to the society for members of the group.
While Interacting with Nigerian Notch, the leader of the
group, Nelson Okeke said that they were in the school to continue with their good gesture in seeing to it, that
the tuition fees of pupils in Nnewi community is paid, especially for the less privileged
in the society. He thanked the teachers
of the school for nurturing the pupils to becoming citizens of Nigeria.
He therefore enjoined the pupils to be worthy ambassadors of
Nnewi, and to always note that they must take their studies seriously towards
becoming great men and women; God has destined them to be.
In her reaction the Headmistress of the School, Mrs. Okafor
Agu, on behalf of members of staff of
Uruagu Central School, thanked Nnewi
Progressive Youth Movement for taking it upon themselves to pay the tuition
fees of the brilliant pupils in the
school. He urged them to continue with this giant stride, as God who pays back
will surely pay them for all their efforts.
