Transport Commissioner, Keke operators' chairman assure on free flow of traffic

.......sets up Taskforce on decongestion

The chairman of tricycle operators known as CITROWAAS in Anambra State, Mr. Sylvester Obiora, has cautioned the operators to avoid recklessness on the road this season.

Obiora who spoke recently in Awka the state capital , while  addressing the operators also warned them not engage in criminal act this season.

He cautioned  that  Christmas and new year period was  associated with heavy traffic,  therefore they should obey traffic rules and regulations to avoid accident and congestion of the roads.

The chairman charged the taskforce not to hesitate to arrest any tricycle operator who defaulted  the directives, stating that for any operator to run one way amount  to serious traffic violation.

Obiora lauded the Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Christian Madubuko, for his commitment to sanitise transport sector.

Madubuko  in his speech commended Obiora for setting up Special Taskforce for the decongestion of roads during this season.

The Commissioner vowed that Anambrarians would celebrate free flow of traffic this season .

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for creating conducive environment  for Keke operators  in the State and aggressive rehabilitation of roads in the State, which would pave  way for ease movement of goods and persons  on Anambra roads.
In his own speech, the  chairman of the task force, Comrade Mike  Ashiegbunem Onyekelem, vowed to live up to the expectation, assuring that Anambra State would not witness any traffic challenge this period.

The Chief Media Officer of CITROWAAS, Dede Uzor, A Uzor, lauded  both the Commissioner and Obiora for coming out with this wonderful idea of decongestion the roads this season, saying,  it was timely and extremely important at this period of the year.

He said " this is the first time Anambra State will not witness traffic challenge during yuletide".
