ZAMFARA POLICE COMMAND SECURES THE RELEASE OF EIGHT (8) MORE CAPTIVES HELD AT BIRNIN GWARI IN KADUNA STATE.

In Continuation of its  unrelenting  effort to restore lasting peace and normalcy to Zamfara State and  ensure all kidnapped victims under captivity of armed bandits and other militia groups are released and reunited with their families, Today being 9th July 2019, the Commissioner of Police,  Zmafara State Police Command  CP Usman Nagogo psc+ has once again perfected the release of eight (8) more persons who were held captive for more than Four months at Birnin Gwari in Kaduna state.

The victims who comprises men, women and children were secured release by the Commissioner of Police after he led a team of peace and reconciliation committee that includes the SSA to the Governor on security Alhaji Abubakar Dauran (Justice) and National chairman of Miyatti Allah  Alhaji Muhammadu Ardon Zuru to Madada  in  Dansadau Emirate of Maru LGA.

All the victims were handed over hale and hearty to His Excellency Governor Mohammed Bello Matawallen Maradun at the government House Gusau. The CP While handing over the Eight (8) victims assures the Governor of Police total commitment to the  lasting peace in the state.

While taking over the victims, Governor Mohammed Bello Matawalle appreciates the commissioner of police for working assiduously to ensure success of the ongoing peace initiative of the state government. He also commended the Officers and men of the command for the professionalism being displayed in the discharge of their duties.

It could be recalled that, last week Fifty one (51) captives were secured release by the commissioner of police, and have since been handed over to the state government. With this development, Fifty Nine (59) persons were successfully rescued.

This effort will be sustained until zamfara state is returned to its past glory.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body. The cultists then filmed him. Another source, Obi, said he saw no less than 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.  

Prominent Leaders Pay Tribute to Late Sen Ifeanyi Ubah, at Anambra Community Candlelight Procession in Awka
