Nnogha-Ifeoma Okeke Foundation( NIOF) over the weekend extended its free health care delivery service to Mbanagu, Otolo Nnewi, in Nnewi North L.G.A of Anambra state, to carter, for the health needs of people in the area.
While interacting with newsmen, the Executive Director of the foundation, Mrs.Ifeoma Okeke, said the foundation was set up to immortalize the late husband, Nnolgha Okeke, whom she described as humane and caring, especially for the less privileged in the society, while he was alive.
She stressed that the foundation was basically set up to care for the weak, oppressed, vulnerable and widows. She opined that the reason they came to Anambra state was in line with their vision to spread the love throughout the south east, as they have gone to so many places in Enugu state
She however thanked those who supported her in seeing to it, that the dream of helping the less privileged in the society becomes a reality. She, then, asked other well meaning individuals to join in the course of imparting positively on the lives of people around them, by supporting in one way or the other foundations, to help better the lives of people around their environment.
Speaking further with newsmen, the Coordinator of the foundation, Mrs. Chiagozie Madu, thanked God for making their dream a reality, in Anambra state. She as well thanked Nnewi residents for coming out in their numbers to access healthcare, and promised that the foundation will soon visit other areas in the south east, to continue with the good work.
The high point of the medical outreach was the diagnosis and treatment of health issues, which ranged from dental, surgery, and general health related issues, to over 1000 people who came from the four quarters of Nnewi, which was supervised by the Chief Medical Director of Eastern Nigeria Medical Center, led by Dr Chris Obidigbo,and his team of medical experts.
