D.P.O CPS Nnewi Help Avert Fire Disaster At Innoson Plaza In Nnewi

Innoson Plaza in Nnewi, would have been fully gutted by a fire out break that hit the plaza mid afternoon, Friday last week, which started from the second floor of the plaza, at betnija’s office due to the  malfunction of a computer device, which sparked off fire in the three story building, along old Owerri road in Nnewi.
In what can be described as bravery and gallantry of the Nigeria Police force, the Divisional Police Officer of Central Police Station Nnewi, with his men stormed, the area, while a serving member of the Nigeria police force, Mr Okoli, with some Okada men, from capital zone,  risked their life, without thoughts of the hazards that may arise from it, due to the fact that they were not properly trained for such professional work, as quenching of fire, which is the exclusive reserve of fire men, but however brought the fire under control within minutes of having access to water.
Nigerian Notch, on reaching the scene of the incident, met the divisional police officer Mr. Ike Egbochukwu, and his men, and   found out that the police have quenched the fire. Members of the public were very happy, as they, raised Mr. Kenneth Okoli shoulder  high and applauded him and his men for their bravery and dedication to the service of their fatherland.
Reacting to the incident, the Divisional Police Officer of Central Police Station Nnewi, Mr. Ikechukwu Egbochukwu,  whom  Mr Okoli is serving under, commended his men, especially Mr. Okoli who risked his life, to see to it that the fire, did not burn down the building. He thanked members of the public for coming to their aid by providing water, which helped his men to perfect the job.
This brings to bear, the call on Anambra state government to put aright the facilities of fire stations in the state,  in order, which will help make the fire stations functional for the reasons they are been set up.  Members of the public who talked with Nigerian Notch, were visibly angry with the state government and fire service, as fire out breaks in the state have continually happened without the fire service coming to the rescue of the victims.
